Happy Canada Day

It's July 1st, Canada Day!

And even though we're not celebrating, we can't help but remember a year ago today when we were in Creston for the festivities. So here's a little stroll down memory lane as we recall a few moments from our time in the Great White North, the destination of our cross-country (LA-Canada) trip in the summer of '06.

This is the Rennaker farm - gorgeous in any season.

Darren and Dane - looks like Dane just discovered his hand, but I think he's waving.

Kissin' Cousins Kiley and Dalton. Don't mind the weird colors on his face. She had toy make-up and used it to give him glasses like Harry Potter. (?!)

Dalton and Dane and their cute cousins Addi and Benjamin (our traveling companions, along with their cute mom Aunt Jenni). We had two portable DVD players going at this point. It was nice for the mommies up front.

The hayride around the property, with Grandpa at the helm.

The view out the back window. Makes me wanna sit on the porch for a while, play some Rook, then head into town for a screamer and some fries'n'gravy!
OH CANADA!

cute! okay i have lots of comments, but first i want to tell all your other loser friends that they need to start commenting more so i don't feel like such a hog!

jenny-i know you're out there. say something! beth, joyce...speak up! (hi btw, i think of you often with such fondness)

okay, canada day. oops, we missed it, but i too have celebrated this holiday canada style. imagine a whole bunch of irreverent youth who had made the voyage north for thomas's farewell, which happened to hit around canada day. then imagine bron, loosli, cortney, etc all sprawled out on the hill by the rec center for the festivities. i love creston, but have to admit, the fireworks were underwhelming. i remember everyone teasing thomas about it and his defensive response "it's a small town, not a big budget". funny.

you're right that the whole area is beautiful any time of the year, but summer is just absolutely stunning.

oh canada - WORD!
